New Blog

Living Lufkin was fun while it lasted, but I will no longer add any new posts.

I will be leaving the site up as it provides me a good laugh if I am ever bored.

On the plus side, I have another blog that I post to occasionally. I just post random stuff. You can check it out www.kotel4.com

Yo Soy El Hombre!

I am not sure how many times I have told myself that I need to update Living Lufkin more often. . . .probably about as many times as I have put off updating the page. So many things have changes in the past few months. For starters I have a new job. I am working as the IT Site Manager for DMJM Rottet (Interior Architecture Firm).

Since I am no longer living in lufkin, I have considered changing the name of the blog, but nah! Then I would have to get another domain name, and that I don't need. You see I went through a phase where I was addicted to owning domain names, lets just say there is no reason to have monkeybras.com. I would have to wake that addiction back up. I am able to update the blog much easier now, so surely I will update more often.

Leaving Lufkin

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Time to move on and continue doing all the things I said will happen one day. Much has changed in a very short period of time, but all is for the better. I moved to Houston, or actually Seabrook, TX for my last few years of college. Biggest news is the fact that I am going to get married! For the proposal, I had rented a sailboat and captain for a sunset cruise in clear lake. I had a beautiful platinum engagement ring made that I got to design. Everything seemed perfect . . . until the day. We make it to clear lake, Monica just thought we were visiting, because we really enjoy the area, and often take trips. The weather was horrible, storming all day. Well sailboats don't like storms, I just knew my plans were for nothing. So around 7 I headed to meet the captain, and the skys cleared. From then on the weather was beautiful, we had a great sail. On the way in I popped the big question. . . shortly after the boat broke down, but that is another story.

We now reside in apartment #1421 at Pirates Landing. When we were searching for apartments, this one was a little out of the price range, but we decided what the hell, we will check it out. Once we visited, we just knew it was the perfect place. First trip to the pool a bunch of guys are drinking beer playing pool volleyball, people are grilling all around. . . SIGN me UP! We chose to live on the third floor because they have beautiful vaulted ceilings. While it looks cool, it isn't cool hauling up the furniture. Thanks Travis!

What else is new . . . .I got a job working on the Kemah Boardwalk. So far all is good, I decided to try something completely new and have enjoyed the experience.

The last week of July Westley and his Fiance Vanessa were in from Maine, so we rented a beach house for the weekend and had a blast. Giant sand titties, 1am beach foot races, crushed snuff, old 45s, fighting kites, fucking kikes, rocking the house, many stories but few pictures.

Lonestar State

We woke up and piddled around Austin for a bit, and checked out the Sate Capitol Building. For some reason all of the Sushi places were closed for lunch, so we hit up some cajun food.

After we ate, we went to the Texas State Museum. The highlight of the museum was the IMAX theater they have, that was showing Superman Returns in 3D.
